PREPARATION FOR WRITTEN ENTRANCE EXAM CDS, CPF, NDA, AFCAT TEST




Guidelines for approaching a test paper :-
 Examiners Aim of setting  each subject:-
1. Maths :- Speed with accuracy.
2. English:-Grammatical perfection.
   3. General Knowledge:-Power of observation in everyday life and  knowledge of Current affairs.
   4. Science (Phy, Chem, Life Science, Space Science):- Class 9/10 Subjective knowledge.
5. Humanities (History, Geography, Polity, Economics) :- Dates and data.

FORMAT OF TEST PAPER

1. The Question Papers are designed to test individual skill and quick
thinking, methodical approach towards solution of a problem and tackling of
paper with maximum scoring. (TIME FACTOR)
   2. Papers are presented in a complex way and problems appear to be big
because they are presented in that manner. (DO NOT GET BOGGED
DOWN IN PRESENTATION)
 3. Indirect and applied reasoning questions are asked.(APPLICATION)
 4. Throughout the Paper, the questions are of varied types and not the same.
The difficulty  level of the problem increases as the paper reaches midway.
 ie, thick in the middle and again tones down to relatively easier questions.(DO NOT GET STUCK to a question, move forward for the next question)
5. In Science, indirect and applied form of reasoning is asked.
6. In History and Geography, dates and data may be juggled up. (Application)
7. Mental setup is needed. Regular practice and goal directed efforts with a desire to learn everyday.
8. The Test paper will be Objective type, therefore speed, accuracy and thinking fast is required to obtain maximum score.

PREPARATION BEFORE EXAM
1. Remain physically fit and mentally alert. (DAILY MORNING EXERCISE)
2. Take up the weakest subject and read /practice in the early hours of morning.
3. Practice hand writing daily.
4. Make notes / point for any doubts to be clarified.
5. Read from the first page to the last page of all the reference books, at least
once.
6. Try and solve previous years test papers with speed against time.
7. Clarify all the doubts from the Directing staff / friends, daily.

PREPARATION DURING EXAMINATION
1. Reach the venue one hour before the starting time.
2. Carry admit card including one photocopy.
3. Carry ID card with one photocopy.
4. Carry writing materials ie two blue ink pens and black ink pen (BALL POINT) pencil, sharpener and a six inch plastic scale.
5. Refrain from talking to other candidates before and during exams.
6. Not to move out without permission of the invigilator.
7. Submit the answer paper to the invigilator once indicated.

GUIDELINES FOR APPROACHING THE TEST PAPER
1. Relax and stay focused.
2. Read the general instructions given on the top of the paper carefully.
3. Count number of pages and check clear print of the question paper.
4. Start solving all the questions in a serial order from first to last question.
Leave 
question unanswered if not solved and go for the next question immediately without wasting any time.
5. Allot Time and attempt all the 100% questions even if negative marking is given in the instruction.
6. Review/revise all the questions attempted. Do not leave any questions unanswered. ( MAY FETCH ADDITIONAL SCORES)
